IPL Photo Facial - Clear unwanted pigment in as little as one session!

FAQ

IPL treatments are a fantastic way to even your complexion and brighten your skin! This service can be used anywhere dark pigment is prevalent including the face, hands, chest, legs, arms and back. This treatment is not safe for all skin types and works best on Mediterranean tones and lighter.
  • How Does it Work?

An Intense Pulsed Light penetrates dark pigment at and below the surface of the skin, breaking up granules which are then absorbed by your body, resulting in clearance of the spots.

  • What Does it Feel Like?

You will experience a pulsed heating sensation with warmth in the area lingering up to 30 minutes. Treatment times vary depending on the size of the area being serviced however most range from 15 – 30 minutes.

  • Is There Downtime?

Spots will darken and crust over a period of up to two weeks. New, pinkish skin will be visible after the damaged cells slough off. Final results typically appear after one month.

  • How Do I Prepare For My Treatment?

Avoid exfoliating/retinoids for one week and significant sun exposure for at least two weeks. Clients must not be on antibiotics for 10 days leading up to this service.

  • How Do I Care for My Skin Afterwards?

Nothing should be applied to the skin for at least four hours post treatment to allow the heat to continue working underneath. After that, aloe or Aquifer can be applied multiple times a days to speed up recovery time. Do not pick at sloughing skin. Use gentle products and cleanse with room temperature water (not hot) for one week. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Sunscreen all day!

  • What is the difference between the Candela Photo Facial and the IPL?

The IPL may require more sessions but can pick up lighter pigment that the Candela cannot see. For clients with dark pigment we recommend the Candela. Lighter freckling would be ideal for an IPL.
